These panels are therefore moisture-resistant and as sturdy as wood chipboard, so they can be used for load-bearing purposes; they are also flame-retardant due to the addition of fine wood chips. And, such materials of different compositions have their own texture and color like wood, ceramic or stone. Therefore, they can also be used for interior decoration such as floor tiles, wall panels or ceilings.

The new study was published in the Journal of Cleaner Production. The paper writes that this series of plates "consists of a non-toxic, low-cost, low-carbon building material." Researchers are working to expand the production of this material.

It is hoped that this material can be applied to production and life as soon as possible, and it can really alleviate the waste of resources and environmental pollution caused by waste textiles.
